Tulip Festival

This weekend we continued to explore Oregon with a day trip to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm for their annual festival. Who new there were so many verities of Tulips? The boys loved the hay pyramid and walking thru all the fields. (Also helps to get out some of their energy.

Of course I ordered a few verities of tulips and daffodils which I will receive next fall for planting.

The windmill was to festinating so of course I could not get them to all look at the camera at the same time.

My three tulips.
Just acres of tulips.

Very popular with all of the farms up here are the tractor barrels pulls. I’m not to sure how safe this really is but the boys love it.

Ag Fest 2009

Last weekend (sorry I don’t get to update sooner) the boys and I went to Oregon’s Ag Fest. There was just too much to do. We got to see where our food and fiber comes from, the importance of forest, plant seeds, transplant vegetables and dig for potatoes. Unfortunately I did not get that many pictures.

All three boys got a tomato plant for our garden. They however did not tell us what types of tomatoes they were. So they could be great for our sandwiches or tiny cherry, I guess well find out in a few months. They also got seeds for the Indian corn I’m excited to see how they turn out.

Here are a few pictures I did take.

Tractor races.

Making bird feeders.
